First, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F for about 3-5 minutes.
While your air fryer is preheating, cut the tops off of the peppers and remove all of the seeds. Next, dice up the tops of the peppers (except the stems) and set them to the side.
Once your air fryer is done preheating, put the peppers in their fryer basket and cook for 6 minutes. While the peppers are being cooked, you can prepare the filling.
To make the filling for your peppers, you will first want to heat the olive oil in a large, deep skillet on medium-high heat.
Once the olive oil is hot, you will want to add the diced peppers, and onion and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the veggies are soft.
After that, add the garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until very slightly browned.
Next, add the ground turkey and brown it until there is absolutely no pink.
Now you will want to add in the salt, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire, and diced tomatoes and mix together to combine well.
Next, add the water and uncooked rice and stir well.
Turn down the heat to the medium-low setting, cover your pan with its lid and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the rice is nice and tender.
Once the rice and turkey mixture is cooked through, scoop it evenly into each of the peppers and put the peppers back into the air fryer.
Finally, cook the peppers in the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 4 minutes and open the drawer, Last but not least, top the peppers with shredded cheese if you like and cook for an additional 4 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. (If you decide not to use cheese, you can just air fry the peppers for a total of 8 minutes.)
Serve and enjoy!
